These sweet, tender softshell clams are hand-harvested from the sandbars along the Maine coast as they have been for generations, purged of any sand in seawater pools and delivered directly to us daily. This extra care results in the sweetest, grit-free steamers available. Unlike their hard-shell cousins, littleneck and cherrystones, softshell steamer clams are typically steamed in a mix of beer and water. Not many things can conjure up the taste of summer more than munching on a steamer clam just dunked in melted butter.
